Philadelphia, PA (September 29,  2015) - Hundreds of youth hockey players on 19 different teams from across the United States will compete in the third annual NHL Youth Cup Tournament at the Virtua Health Flyers Skate Zone at Pennsauken, NJ and the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Pittsburgh, PA from Saturday, October 10 through Monday October 12.

The NHL Youth Cup™ provides NHL-sponsored “AAA” youth hockey clubs an opportunity to play a weekend series of games against each other for all birth years from Squirt Minor through Bantam Major. The three age groups competing in Philadelphia are players born in 2002, 2004 and 2006, while Pittsburgh is hosting the 2001, 2003 and 2005 birth year age groups. The Philadelphia Flyers will be represented by Team Comcast, one of the nation’s top AAA youth hockey programs, which is sponsored by the parent company of the Philadelphia Flyers. Several other participating teams are also affiliated with NHL® clubs, including the Carolina Hurricanes, the New Jersey Devils, the New York Islanders, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Nashville Predators  and the Washington Capitals.

"This tournament really shows the commitment the National Hockey League and its Members Clubs have to the growth of hockey here in our country," said Comcast-Spectacor Vice President of Rink Management and Development Pat Ferrill. "It truly is amazing to see the ever-growing number of players competing in our region, as well as their quality of play. Our (hockey) market continues to develop and we're proud to host this terrific tournament and to help the NHL spread its good will into our community."
