It is a trying time in Atlantic County with the casino industry changing and jobs becoming harder to find. In order to help their community, the Atlantic City Sharks Hockey Organization held a food drive for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. The food bank “is the powerful change agent that fills the emptiness caused by hunger with the basic human essentials that people need to survive.” (http://www.cfbnj.org/about/) The Atlantic City Sharks organization came together with all of the teams from squirt thru midgets and donated food. The organization collected a truck full of food and delivered it to the Community Food Bank on Friday, December 4th. Once the food is delivered to the food bank, they weighed it and then had volunteers stock the shelves. The AC Sharks Organization donated a total of 492 pounds of food and other essential items including soap, toothpaste, etc. These items will go to those in need and aid families to put food on their table. Our Bantam team will also be volunteering their time to help stock shelves in the Community Food Bank later on this month.
