The Philadelphia Flyers USPHL Premier Hockey Club is proud to announce that goaltender Curtis Frye has committed to attend and play hockey for Northeastern University in the fall of 2016.
Frye is off to 10-5-2 start for the Flyers so far this season, helping position the team as contender in the second half of the year. Through 17 games played, Frye has a .908 save percentage while his 10 wins puts him amongst the league leaders. Curtis has established himself as a leader with the Flyers, and in his second year with the team, hopes to backstop the team to their first USPHL Championship.
Head Coach Jared Beach had this to say about Frye’s commitment; “We could not be happier for Curtis. He has worked very hard over the past two seasons, and his day to day effort off the ice, in practices, and in games has certainly paid off. Curtis is also a great person, well liked and respected by his teammates, and he spends time each week volunteering with the local youth organization helping their goalies in practice. I am certain he will be ready to step in next season and compete for time at Northeastern. We are very proud of Curtis, as he truly embodies everything our organization stands for.”
Curtis has been a big contributor to the Flyers success so far this season, and is poised to lead the team in the second half. He will be a great addition to Northeastern University this coming Fall. The Philadelphia Flyers organization would like to congratulate Curtis on his commitment.
